We are the South Medford High School Biodiesel Club. We have guest speakers who are involved with biodiesel technology come and talk to us. We travel to other schools and community organizations and present information about biodiesel. We have been featured in several videos and movies. We go to restaurants and schools and collect the extra oil that was used for cooking. We then make our own biodiesel. Currently, we have our equipment at a club member's house and we are making our biodiesel there. Several of the club members and our teacher supervisor own cars that run on biodiesel.

- Southern Oregon Regional Science Symposium in Glendale, Oregon
- Career and Technical Education presentation in Bend, Oregon
- Earth Day Celebration at Science Works in Ashland, Oregon
- 4th of July Parade in Ashland, Oregon
Upcoming events that we will be presenting at include:
- The Sundance Award-winning documentary "Fuel" will be shown on March 12 at 5:00pm in the South Medford High School auditorium. This event is sponsored by Rising Phoenix Biofuels and Rogue Biofuels.
Goals:
- We want to promote, support, and educate others in our community about biodiesel and the benefits included when biodiesel is used. We are an environmentally-friendly club that wants to do our part in reducing our ecological footprints, join in the fight against global warming, and help keep the world a beautiful place.
- We hope to convince Laid Law in the Rogue Valley to allow all of the school buses to run on biodiesel.
- We plan to purchase a new truck that we can run on biodiesel. We had a truck but it is not working properly, and has not been fixed. We would use to the truck for oil pickups, and depending on what kind of truck we invested in, we could even have mobile biodiesel demonstrations.
- We have discussed turning the club into a non-profit organization. That way everyone in the community could be involved. It would be a good way to expand and reach out to the community.
